Magic: The Gathering

Just a quick note tonight. I saw a post on Facebook in which someone mentioned a “Magic: The Gathering” movie. Being that I spent a few years while in high school playing this game, I thought I would look for it. Couldn’t find mention of the movie, but I looked around on Wikipedia for a bit and read about all the changes to the game since I last played 4 or 5 years ago. Pretty interesting stuff. Maybe I’ll start collecting and playing again. I didn’t realize the game was still as popular as it is.

Anyway, just thought I would share a link with y’all. This guy used to own what used to be Baseball Cards America next to K-Mart on 5600 West in West Valley City. He was the one that owned the shop when we all started playing. Pretty fancy if you ask me. He had another guy working for him too, Jack Something, that was a big MTG player. We used to spend hours and most weekends playing in tournaments and just chatting with a former champion of a game that is still going strong after 16 years or so.

It is interesting the types of people we encounter in our daily lives sometimes.
